Recent visits by Congressman Quigley and Preservation Chicago’s Ward Miller have been informative for our members.  Congressman Quigley spoke of the new legislative dynamics in Congress, and on his position on funding for the Great Lakes and other funding issues.

Ward Miller spoke about the preservation efforts all over the city that have become our most cherished and celebrated urban locations.  He focused on the effort right here in Lincoln Park, specifically along Lincoln Park West, Fullerton and Commonwealth and its importance because of the proximity of those buildings to the park and the zoo.  Several attendees urged the landmarking of all buildings that face the park, just as the “necklace” of buildings that front Millennium Park play a special role in our city’s beauty and history.
