McCaffery Interests has closed on the purchase of the former Children’s Memorial Hospital site, and demolition is proceeding. The appeal of MidNorth Association’s lawsuit against the City of Chicago, alleging a violation of the City’s zoning code, was denied by the Supreme Court of Illinois in September of 2016.  McCaffrey Interests has gained approval for the construction of two 22-story towers and retail space on the property.
